We bought four of these beauties for spring 2007 as an experiment.   Well, when they came off the semi-truck, they were spectacular!  Everyone ooo'd and ah'ed over them.   And we weren't alone - these trees made a huge hit at the Garden Show this year.

Well, our first four trees never made it out of the delivery area.   The first customers who saw them there, still twined up, bought them on the spot.   They really are quite beautiful and unusual and that's saying a lot when you specialize in Japanese Maples and have tons of really beautiful specimens around.

Then, we ordered 12 more for spring 2007 - and they lasted less than two weeks before they were all gone by April 19th! 

27 Feb 08 - Our 2008 Acer conspicuum 'Phoenix' trees are here.

We received 30 of them this year and a number of those are already spoken for.   These trees are significantly larger than last year's.  See the new photos, below.   We will be open for the season beginning Saturday, March 1st, 2008.  

Be aware that these trees are beautiful, rare and they are also pricey.   Each of them will retail for between $450 and $500.   We wanted to say that up-front so people won't drive out to get one and leave with 'sticker shock'.  These trees are about 8' tall now and their root-balls are heavy.   It will take two people to move them around.

All of these trees have descended from a single unusual tree that was found in Holland in 1982 among a group of Acer conspicuum ' Silver Veins'.
