Woods Creek Wholesale Nursery
What to Bring
Depending on where you
want to go in our nursery and what the day's weather is like, you may want to
dress in work clothes, shoes appropriate for rough and muddy ground and bring an
umbrella. We are working to upgrade our roads and paths with gravel but if
it has rained recently, you can expect a few rough patches.
It is also a good idea
to think ahead about the type of vehicle you bring. If you are
considering buying anything larger than a few small potted plants, then a
pickup truck or a vehicle you don't mind getting dirty is a good idea. We
normally have a few newspapers and plastic bags around which we can use to help
protect your vehicle's interior if you buy only a few small items but for larger
purchases, a certain amount of dirt and mess will be inevitable.
Finally, if you are going to buy larger stock which will hang out the back window of your SUV or be loaded into the bed of your pickup truck, then you should consider how the stock will weather your trip home. If you have to drive more than a few miles or if your journey home will necessarily take you onto roads where you'll be driving at speeds in excess of 35 miles an hour, then you should bring some old bed sheets (not plastic tarps!) which we can use to wrap around your stock to protect it (we have the necessary twine). It is disappointing to get home and find all your foliage has been wind burned or torn off in transit. Your tree or shrub will probably recover by the following season, but that's a long time to wait to admire your purchase.
